Master's Level Intern

Our student interns are in their final year of their Master's degree in the areas of social work, psychotherapy, and counselling psychology. The benefits of meeting with a Master's level intern include more affordable counselling fees, more immediate availability, the fresh perspective of the Intern, and the supervision of the more experienced Therapist.

Rachel’s warmth, compassion, and honesty cultivate a safe space for clients to engage in self-exploration. Rachel’s client-centred approach involves working collaboratively to set goals and move clients forward towards positive change. Rachel supports individuals (14 years+) experiencing anxiety, depression, stress management, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. Rachel offers a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, self-compassion, and mindfulness-based interventions tailored to meet each client’s unique needs.

Rachel is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario and an active Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association member. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University.

Sherri provides compassionate, client-centred counselling to individuals (16 years+) and families. Sherri treats clients who seek help managing stress, feelings of anxiety and depression, trauma, abuse, relationship reconciliation, separation, divorce, blended families, parenting, career issues, and work-life balance. Sherri helps clients learn to identify where they feel stuck, develop effective communication strategies, change negative thinking and self-sabotaging behaviour, improve relationships, increase self-esteem, self-compassion, and overall sense of well-being by applying a range of strength-based and trauma-informed therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, solution-focused brief therapy, narrative therapy, psychoanalytic approaches, and other collaborative post-modern therapies.

Sherri received her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Ecology from Western University, and her Master of Science in Family Therapy from the University of Massachusetts Boston, both with academic distinction. Sherri also received her Animal Assisted Therapy certification through the University of North Texas concurrently while attending graduate school. Sherri is a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and a Pre-Clinical Fellow with the American/Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Sherri qualifies to accept any extended health insurance that requires a Family Therapist or Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist designation.

Bridgit (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker (RSW), Psychotherapist offering compassionate counselling for individuals, children/youth (early years - 12 years), and families through a virtual platform in Ontario. Bridgit believes in the power of play to help children discover, learn, and heal. Her approach combines play therapy with evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person Centered Approach, tailored to guide your child through crucial developmental stages. She specializes in supporting neurodiverse children, children who are reaching towards developmental milestones, and trauma survivors. Additionally, she specializes in supporting new and expecting parents. Many Canadians face Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (1 in 5). Bridgit uses a blend of approaches, including Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered, and mindfulness techniques, to provide effective support for new and expecting parents.

As a therapist passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, Alyson is dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing space where clients can explore their innermost thoughts and feelings. She believes in the transformative power of therapy and is honoured to walk alongside her clients on their journey toward healing and self-discovery.

Alyson is a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) with the CRPO. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology through Wilfrid Laurier University with a minor in philosophy, and she is currently completing her master’s degree in counselling psychology through Yorkville University. She is also certified in Gottman level 1 couple’s therapy.

Alyson works with individuals (14+) and couples who are dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, life transitions, grief, and trauma. Alyson uses a client-centered, trauma-informed approach with evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

Hannah is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She obtained her B.A. from the University of Waterloo in Social Development with a Social Work specialization, as well as a minor in Legal Studies. She is also currently completing her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University. Hannah provides a welcoming environment to individuals, families, and couples and works with children aged 7+. Hannah utilizes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Strengths-Based Therapy (SBT) techniques to address topics such as anxiety, depression, addiction behaviours, burnout, and familial conflicts. Hannah’s priority is to provide a safe and open environment for clients to be able to process emotions and concerns in a manner that is custom-built and comfortable for their needs.
